Mission Update
Salama Friends and Family,
I apologize it has taken so long to write an update of my summer journeys, and adventures in the Harvest Mission School inMozambique.
I believe I have finally settled back in. It was all so very amazing and Pappa- God’s hand was upon me from the start, to the day I returned to American soil. A few days before I was to leave, I was still short nearly $ 2000, 00 and then I found out my visa was stuck in Washington. I had to cancel my flight and thought maybe I had missed the Lord on timing; I had settled into preparing to go in October instead of June. Long story short, plans quickly shifted as, my storehouse in heaven opened up; my visa arrived and I was Africa bound on June 5th.
My life was completely transformed and I will never be the same.
I leave a larger piece of my heart each time that I go, and it is not easy to get on the plane to return.
It is hard to put into words all that the Lord did in my life, and the love that I carry in my heart for these people and for the continent of Africa. I am honored and so thankful that the Lord sent me, and for each of you that have lifted me up in prayer and for those of you who have supported me financially. I felt the prayers; it was as though I were in a bubble…a bubble of His love…surrounded by Him as well as each of you.
Heidi Baker says, “Love is a four letter word. When lived out it will cost you everything, but you also gain everything.” I learned a new depth of this love likeI have never known before.
I loved walking through the villages, which is where I saw HIS heart the most. I could see the pain in His heart, and the desperation for His people to know Him. I delighted in being with Abba everyday and a saw a new aspect of Him every where I looked. I connected so deeply with His heart, and it made me desperate for more. This time while I was there, I realized they have so much of what we lack here in the Western World. I saw amongst them so much community, communion, fellowship, relationship, and love. This is precisely what our Papa in heaven desires with each of us.
There was much stretching, growing and opportunities to understand the meaning of this word love. For 10 weeks, I had the opportunity to lay down my agenda and embrace Jesus, I encountered difficult situations, but each of them only drew me closer to His heart. I loved attempting to learn their language. Our main focus was to learn the tribal language Makua and some Portuguese as well. It was all a matter of embracing their heart….Love is a language in itself!! We washed clothes by hand, hauled water into our compound, cleaned latrines, took bucket showers, learned to love when you felt like you had nothing left to give. Personal Space, there was none!!! Many mornings at
5: 00 AM we woke to the wonderful sun shining and sweet little voices at our gate yelling out……”Mama…Danielle…wey...wey (Come)”. Many of them wanted bread…or anything else for that matter. I have learned a whole new meaning of being thankful. Things I viewed as priorities and of significance quickly began to melt away. His love truly transforms. It was a joy to be a laid down lover, and then to allow His precious love to flow through me to His Makua bride.
I am still processing all of it, and I reflect often on all the memories and miracles God shared with me this summer. There is so much to share. I witnessed the multiplication of food on numerous occasions. The amount of food and the amount of people didn’t look like it would equal enough; but there was always some left over!! We were always celebrating the goodness of the Lord. We celebrated birthdays of these little ones, and even Mozambique’s Independence Day. What an honor to celebrate the freedom of their Nation. We prayed for people all the time and watched the Lord do what He does best. God is their ONLY hope and He is all that they have.
We had the opportunity of teaming with some of the Bible school students training to be pastors.
We really got to connect with their hearts and it was an honor to minister with them in their Nation. It was very humbling! We blessed the pastors and their families with clothes, shoes and backpacks before they headed back out to their villages to bring the good news. We also washed one another’s feet. They are passionate about the Lord and go to great extremes and make many sacrifices to come and serve Jesus. Many lose their families over the decision. They have truly laid it all down for the sake of His Kingdom.

We did many amazing things and there was never a dull moment.

Iris has a wonderful program that cares for Widows as well. They have a sewing school, they make beads and they distribute rice and beans to these ladies once a week.
There was also
an opportunity to be involved in helping with fixing widows roofs. Many of them were in very bad shape and rainy season was approaching. There really was not a budget for this, so many of the Mission School students agreed to help start a new project. It was amazing to watch as we joined hands and we were able to touch the heart of God. I thought of the widow who sowed her last might, and gave her all. These Mozambican women are amazing. They give there all in everything they do!!!! It was an honor to be a part of this, and I sowed a good portion of the support money into this project.
I also had the privilege of mentoring a 12 year old boy named John and his sister Anifa age 3. His mother is a part of the widow program at Iris. He invited me to His home and my heart was filled with compassion for this family.
His mom has 5 children and their father died. He was so concerned that the back wall of their house was about to cave in on his mom where she sleeps in the back room. There were holes all in their roof. They are on the list for help to get it fixed, but their house is not as bad as some, so they are much further down on the list to receive help. It would cost $500.00 American dollars to build a new mud hut for them! I told Fatima and John that I would believe for God to provide a way for their house to be rebuilt
The bush outreaches are always a highlight for me. I really came alive in a new way; I loved every minute of it!! The journey usually took 3 to 5 hours on VERY bumpy dirt roads; packed like sardines in an open bed truck; we slept in tents, (rather in the “billion star hotel” as Heidi would say) and eating goat….a story in itself!

We went on two outreaches while I was there. W e shared His love in many ways. We showed the Jesus Movie, shared testimonies, and served them in anyway that we could. Some Highlights of the first bush outreach for me; were dedicating a new church, loving on the children, playing games, and making mud bricks with my new friend Ajira.
The Lord healed a baby boy around 2 named Malacca, who had Malaria. He was standing listening to a Bible Story and I realized he was trembling. I picked Him up and he was burning up with fever, lethargic, and his finger tips and toes were ice cold. We cleaned his face off, prayed over him, and he fell asleep in my arms. His mom came and took him home. Later another young girl brought him back and was carrying him on her back. Malacha looked much better and his fingers and toes had warmth in them, and the fever had gone down. The next day, he was fever free, running around….Healed!!!!
The second bush outreach was amazing too. It was a rough village, with a strong Muslim influence. We got to pray and intercede with the pastors for breakthrough. We had the honor of helping them build a mud church in their village. The Lord really spoke to me through this about how we are the church…. Absolutely amazing!!

A man who was crippled in a wheel chair was being mocked and the others were saying “let’s see if your Jesus can heal him”…the man said He knew Jesus would. He came back the next day for more prayer, and said he loved the beauty of the church in our hearts and that He wanted it in his. He accepted the Lord and said that he would believe for the manifestation of his healing. He traded His Muslim hat for our straw hat!!! The coolest part of this story is that the man leading him to the Lord was from Portugal. They were colonized by Portugal, and God brought redemption through His willing vessel.

Later that day we drove on down to another village that had never been open to evangelism. They said we could come, but that they did not need Jesus.
This area had been highly colonized and you could feel the unforgiveness towards the akunas (white people). The spiritual environment was intense. The Jesus movie was playing, while we focused in on the goodness of the Lord. We huddled together to pray and intercede. A demon possessed man circled the truck the entire time, with red eyes and he was growling. When the movie was over, the gentleman from Portugal asked the village for forgiveness for what Portugal had done to their Nation and their people. The Demon possessed man came forward, and was immediately delivered and set free. One of the guys on our team embraced him and he just melted into Nathaniel’s arms.
It was very obvious that this man was receiving true love for the first time in his life. Many were saved and multiple healings took place. It was amazing!!!!! This village encountered the one true living God.
I could go on for hours of all the stories and amazing encounters with the Lord. This summer was a pivotal time in my life. The Lord continues to uncover the passions that were once buried deep inside of my heart. I love reaching out to His people all over the world. Once again, I thank each of you for supporting me, and for being a part of such an amazing journey.
I will be in contact again soon!

I have an amazing son who just turned 16.
I am creative and I love to write, journal, and scrapbook. I love nature, camping and being outside every chance I get. I am outgoing and always looking for a new adventure with Jesus.
I am currently in my second year at Convergence School of Supernatural Ministry.
I attended the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries this summer in Mozambique.
I have dreamed of being a missionary since I was a little girl. It has been a joy to start walking out the desires God placed deep inside of my heart.
He has totally transformed my life by the power of His love, and I will never be the same.
My MISSION is......
to travel around the world to ancient and desolate places, as a mother to many;
restoring the value of covenant and family,
healing broken hearts,
reclaiming generational injustices,
and reconciling people to the heart of God.

What's Next????
What's Next????
I am currently attending CSSM for a second year of Ministry School. I am very excited about doing fulltime missions; however I am working on some personal issues and have heard the Lord to continue training as I wait on Him. My heart is to eventually go fulltime with Iris Ministries. I realize I am a missionary no matter where I am, and I wait for God to send me on the next assignment.
This is what the Lord has in the works so far……….
I will be going to Kenya for a week in March of 2010 with CSSM, and then the 2nd year students are going to meet in Israel for 4-5 days.
When school is out, I am praying about going back to Mozambique for the summer to staff the Harvest Mission School in the summer of 2010.
In the Fall, I plan to go to school to become an EMT or Paramedic. I feel led to get medical training that would benefit me on the Mission field. I also plan to take ESL, so that I can teach English as a second language.
If I do not go back to Africa for the summer, I am sure the Lord will have something amazing all worked out for me.
I just take one step at a time, and follow His voice and move as HE leads.
I will send out more information about the upcoming Missions trips soon, and give you an opportunity to go on another amazing journey with me.
If I become fulltime with Iris Ministries, I will be required to raise support of a minimum of $500.00 a month. I feel led to start early in raising this support. I am asking each of you to pray about supporting me in one of three ways.
- A prayer partner; intercessor
- A one time gift.
- As a monthly supporter
